How do I need to take care of my tattoo after I get it?

Remove the clear bandage very carefully, that was put in order to protect the tattoo, 3-5 days after the tattoo application.Wash and clean your hands and then your tattoo with an antibacterial soap and luke water. Pat dry with a paper towel. Since the tattoo will need a lot of moisture, apply a thin layer of ‘Tattoo Aftercare Cream’. By doing this step as frequent as possible, you will speed up the healing process. If too much ointment is applied, do not rub off the excess, with a soft paper towel you may dab away the excess.

Is it possible for a tattoo to get infected?

Unfortunately, if its not taken good care of and not kept clean as it is healing, it can get infected just like any other wound on the surface of the skin. We reccomend to follow the instructions that we provide on how to take care of a tattoo.

Why do I need to keep my tattoo away from the sun exposure or shouldn’t swim as it heals?

The sun will dry out your tattoo and could cause blistering while it heals. The results can be scarring. The salt and chlorine in the water can also cause the colors to fade as it heals.

What is the reason for a tattoo to fade?

Primarily the sun! Lighter colors like white, yellow tend to fade faster. The techniques of the tattoo artist and the pigments that have been used on the skin are other facts as long as the longevity is considered. A good quality professional tattoo will last a life time with a good care and sunblock. The lighter the skin tone, the brighter the colors will be on the skin.

Can a tattoo be removed?

Yes it actually can! Modern laser technology can effecively remove many tattooes within a couple of appointments. However, removal of a tattoo can be more expensive than a cover up and it can leave some scarring too.

Can a tattoo be covered with another one?

Yes depending on the design that will be covered, the cover up technique is preffered by many. The new design needs to be larger and it doesn’t need to be a solid black tattoo, it can be colorful as well.

Will losing or gaining weight effect my tattoo?

Not usually. The skin has a lot of elasticity that naturally adjusts for the changes in the body. During pregnancy, a woman’s abdomen streches considerably and tattooes along waistline will be distorted for a short time, once the body returns to normal, Tattoo will take its original shape as well. Building muscles won’t effect the shape of a tattoo but can make it look smaller on an enlarged surface area.

Can drinking alcohol before getting a tattoo effect the process?

Alcohol thins out the blood and makes it harder for color to get in the skin and stay under the skin. We don’t recommend drinking before the tattooing process.

Do I need and appointment or can I walk in?

Appointments are preffered. Please contact us by email for further info.

Can I bring a friend to my tattoo appointment?

You can definitely bring a friend to your tattoo appointment. But when the number is more than 3 people, it gets very crowded in the studio and can be very distracting fot the artists. Please respect to other artists by not bringing many people with you.
